The objective of this article is to present a template proposal for metadata cataloging of the databases of a industry Observatory. This is an applied research study with a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach. It employs bibliographic research as a technical procedure. The development of the template considered elements related to metadata repositories, with the FAIR initiative serving as the primary reference, and the FAIR Data Point technology assisting in information retrieval from data repositories. The developed template outlines the basic information necessary for understanding the industry Observatory's databases through metadata that describe their characteristics, location, and the questions they address. The template primarily used metadata proposed by FAIR Data Point technology; however, it was necessary to add some metadata adapted to the Observatory's context to facilitate the information retrieval process from the available data. This study contributes to reducing the time required to search for data on specific topics, knowledge management, and assessing the potential uses of the database for the evolution of the industy Observatory as an intelligence center, meeting demands, and creating products, projects, and services in line with its business objectives.
