Application Of The 5s Program In Inventory Management In The Supplies Warehouse: A Case Study In A Dental Products Industry

The 5S program's main characteristic is the organization of productive sectors and support areas in general, and, to this end, it presents very comprehensive concepts that can be applied in both professional and personal life. The problem in question is related to the organization of stocks in the warehouse of a dental components company. Therefore, the general objective of this work was to apply the 5S program to improve inventory management in the input warehouse in a dental products industry. To this end, a case study was carried out, in which topics such as: inventory management and the 5S program were discussed, exposing their objectives and the meaning of each sense. Continuing the work, a case study was carried out, in which the main existing problems were identified in relation to the organization of stocks in the company's warehouse sector and the implementation plan for the 5S program was drawn up. The main results include the optimization of the sector's physical space, greater organization of materials, inputs, equipment and documentation, elimination of difficult to access places, reduction of accident risks, as well as employee awareness regarding material waste. , maintenance of 5S and care for equipment, tools and the work sector.
