Technology has been seen as a competitive advantage in our industrial environments. From basic activities such as planting and farming to the transformation and development of finished products, it can be used domestically to add value, safety and profitability to industries. This scientific article addresses the relevance of industrial networks in the Industry 4.0 era, focusing on the implementation and organization of networks that integrate IoT devices - Internet of Things - to optimize processes and generate competitive advantages. The different types of industrial networks, communication protocols, connectivity technologies for IoT devices and equipment used will be explored. In addition, the challenges and opportunities in the implementation of IIoT networks will be analyzed, such as security, scalability and interoperability. Finally, case studies will be presented that demonstrate how the adoption of IIoT networks can generate tangible benefits for industries, such as increased efficiency, cost reduction and improved quality of products and services.
