The article makes a contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) based on Information Technology (IT), and the proper use of industrial property rights for its protection. The contribution in the form of an application, which assists in the identification of selective collection points and monitors the process of disposal of Recyclable Urban Solid Waste produced in the municipality of Santarém - PA. It involved research with a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive approach with data collection at the INPI base, where the keywords were used for the search: selective collection, solid and recyclable waste, added to the concept of Information Technology, urban solid waste. We sought to identify software records related to goal 12.5 of SDG of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the UN. The search served as indications for proposing the creation of a technological solution. The result involves the conceptual presentation of the “Carcará” application as a software that can contribute to the selective collection of urban solid waste.
