Abstract

Fashion and music have always had a close relationship, as both are forms of expression, with fashion being used as a form of identification for each group according to their musical style. In the 2000s, with the growth of the media and the internet, the relationship between fashion and music intensified even further, the way each artist dressed became more visible, which led to each rhythm adopting its own unique style. Taylor Swift, a singer who emerged in 2006, broke records with her first album, one of which was staying on the Billboard 200 for longer than any other album in the 2000s. Although she began her career in country, throughout the Over the years, Taylor has moved through different musical genres, such as Country-pop, Pop, Electronic, Rap, Folk and Alternative, demonstrating remarkable versatility in his compositions. Due to this versatility, the singer needed to make the meaning of each era increasingly explicit, seeking a relationship with fashion and what clothing would represent at each stage of her career. Therefore, the general objective of the research was to descriptively investigate the relationship between music and fashion in the career of singer Taylor Swift, in order to understand how the artist's changes in style affected her career and her relationship with the public. To achieve these objectives, the methodology of this study is basic research, a qualitative approach, bibliographical research, as well as a case study of Taylor Swift.

Maria Julia de Lima Dassoler, Senai/Criciúma

My contact with fashion, in an academic way, was through an industrial learning course, in 2013 at SENAI in Criciúma, as a Fashion Product Designer. The following year, in 2014, I enrolled in the Fashion Design Technology degree at SENAI in partnership with UNESC. While I was studying, I interned at a fashion company in the region, where I stayed for almost a year. There, I went through all stages of the production sector, from production to collection development. In 2015 I was invited to participate in the Knowledge Olympics, a SENAI extension program, and represented the Criciúma institution in the state competition. I developed drawing, modeling, draping, sewing and embroidery skills to participate in the competition. After winning the gold medal in occupation 31 - Fashion Technology, I started to represent the state of Santa Catarina and continued with training and qualifications in the different areas of fashion. In August 2016 I won fifth place nationally, receiving a medal of excellence for my good performance in the competition. Still in August 2016, I signed up for another extension project at the institution, Santa Catarina Moda e Cultura (SCMC), in which I worked with several students from different universities, as well as having contact with companies in the fashion and design sector. I managed to reach the final stage, at Design Camp, where we immersed ourselves in a week of innovation and creativity, looking for solutions to different company problems. In the first semester of 2017, I carried out my Course Completion research, which aimed to develop a concept and format for a Collaborative Space focused on Fashion. In June of that same year I defended the research, achieving full marks. The SENAI institution certified me with Honor of Merit for my good performance and dedication during my academic career as a Fashion Design Technology graduate. In 2018, in January, I joined SENAI in Criciúma as a teaching specialist, to teach industrial learning, professional, technical and higher qualification courses, in the clothing area. From the moment I started teaching, I felt the desire to specialize and, in 2019, I entered the professional master's degree in Clothing and Fashion Design at UDESC. My research seeks to uncover ways of encouraging and stimulating creativity in collection development, with the line of research being Fashion and Society. In October 2019, I joined Criciúma as a coach and advisor for the Selective Worlskills Shanghai 2021 competition, in which I teach drawing, modeling, fitting, draping, sewing and embroidery techniques to the city's competitor.
