Goal: Identify how students' learning styles are evaluated and how they correlate with educational practice. Design / Methodology / Approach: This paper presents the results of a literature review on the assessment of learning styles in college students. For the collection and selection of articles, systematic literature review procedures were used in February 2019. The selected articles were analyzed through the conceptual categorization of their variables and results. The PRISMA checklist directed the research steps. Results: Of the 58 articles selected in the review, 16 (28%) met the eligibility criteria. The results showed Turkey as the largest contributor to studies. 'Cognitive learning style' was the most prominent descriptor (72%) and higher education was present in 56% of them. All articles used some evaluation instrument, totaling 13 different models. Visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles were the most cited among the studies. Limitations of the research (if applicable): The use of different assessment instruments, with different approaches, made the correlations difficult.Downloads
