Keywords:
Gypsum; DMAIC; QualityAbstract
The DMAIC tool is a novelty in companies in the production hub. Therefore, the objective of the work was to identify what benefits can be obtained from the application of the DMAIC methodology in the operation of a plaster factory. The use of this method linked to the application of the main quality tools was used as a basis, in addition to the collection and analysis of the company's historical data. Acting on the critical points recognized in the process proved to be an appropriate measure for increasing the classification of the plaster sold, contributing to the company's profitability. According to analyzes carried out, manufacturing focused on higher quality plasters would make it possible to increase the company's revenue by up to R$39,654.50 in a period of just five months, which is a favorable result for the company. Action plans were developed with the aim of mitigating the identified root causes, thus reducing quality problems related to the manufactured product and increasing its classification.
