Abstract

With the emergence of new means of communication, the fashion sector recognized marketing as an essential tool to win over the target audience and boost sales, being widely adopted by several brands seeking to stand out among the competition and establish connections with customers. The growth of social media has given rise to virtual community apps such as Tik Tok, which has gained widespread visibility since its launch in 2016. With its success, the app has created new online growth opportunities for its users. In this context, new content creators become fashion icons for their followers and viewers, demonstrating a new form of influence in this market. Given the innovative nature of the Tik Tok app, brands are seeking to understand its dynamics and its relationship with fashion, as well as identify relevant users in this context. This case study of Jordanna Maia aims to understand her relationship with content creation for TikTok, especially in fashion. Thus, the problem that guides this study is “How Jordanna Maia creates fashion marketing content on TikTok?”. Having as a methodological basis the use of basic and exploratory research, the approach to the problem is of a quali-quanti category, using bibliographical, documentary and case study research, analyzing posts and content present on Jordanna Maia's social networks. Thus, the results conclude that Jordanna plays a significant role in fashion marketing through her content creation on TikTok, attracting attention from brands and expanding her reach in the industry.

Maria Julia de Lima Dassoler, Senai/Criciúma

My academic journey in fashion began in 2013 with an industrial learning course in Fashion Product Design at SENAI in Criciúma. The following year, in 2014, I enrolled in the Fashion Design Technology degree program at SENAI in partnership with UNESC. While studying, I interned at a local fashion company, where I worked for almost a year. There, I experienced all stages of the production process, from manufacturing to collection development. In 2015, I was invited to participate in the Knowledge Olympics, a SENAI extension program, representing the Criciúma institution in the state competition. I developed skills in drawing, pattern making, draping, sewing, and embroidery for the competition. After winning the gold medal in Occupation 31 - Fashion Technology, I went on to represent the state of Santa Catarina and continued training and receiving education in various aspects of fashion. In August 2016, I placed fifth nationally and received a medal of excellence for my performance in the competition. Also in August 2016, I applied for another extension project, the Santa Catarina Fashion and Culture (SCMC), where I worked with students from various universities and connected with companies in the fashion and design sector. I advanced to the final stage, the Design Camp, where we immersed ourselves for a week of innovation and creativity, seeking solutions to various business challenges. In the first semester of 2017, I conducted my final graduation research, which aimed to develop a concept and framework for a Collaborative Fashion Space. In June of that year, I defended my research and received the highest grade. SENAI awarded me with an Honor of Merit for my outstanding performance and dedication during my academic journey in Fashion Design Technology. In January 2018, I became a teaching specialist at SENAI in Criciúma, teaching courses in industrial learning, professional qualification, and technical and higher education in the apparel field. Once I began teaching, I felt the desire to further specialize, and in 2019, I started a professional master’s degree in Apparel and Fashion Design at UDESC. My research seeks to uncover ways to foster and stimulate creativity in collection development, with a focus on the Fashion and Society research line. In October 2019, I became a coach and mentor in Criciúma for the WorldSkills Shanghai 2021 selection competition, where I teach drawing, pattern making, layout, draping, sewing, and embroidery techniques to the local competitor.
