The role of the pedagogical coordinator in educational institutions: issues about his initial training This article aims at presenting an innovative curriculum proposal for a course in pedagogy at an institution of São Paulo in which the presence of specific disciplines for the training of the pedagogical coordinator suggests content and instruments both theoretical and practical so that future educators will be able to fulfill, with quality, this function as well. To justify the disciplines implemented in that course, part of a discussion about the contents of the initial teacher training associated with its coordinating and formative role of the teams of teachers within schools was considered. To this end, we based our work on investigations that have identified the presence of the pedagogical coordinator and his real needs with respect to teacher training and tutoring of students in schools. At the same time, it was observed the importance of management teams as fundamental aspect and pedagogical indicator of quality of education. It must be pointed out, however, as also identified in recent research, that teaching contents related to identity and exercise of this function are absent in the initial training of teachers and educators in their everyday practices.
