The study is based on a practical analysis concerning cost minimization and optimal allocation of resources in a dining hall of the Marine Corps Group of Brasilia, located in the Distrito Federal, where are produced varied meals during the week. In this scenario, a mathematical programming model is developed, providing the identification of the optimal quantity of products to be purchased for the meals required by the military complex, considering the monthly demand for each ingredient and the financial availability of the military organization. The model was implemented using the MS Excel solver tool. After the application of the model, the results were obtained, which are similar to those adopted by the ranch, making it feasible for the structured model to be replicated in different contexts with different levels of demand.
