Abstract

The label of a food is the information channel between manufacturer, distributor, seller and consumer as well as being a tool used to supply the product. The relevance of recommendations and legislation applicable to the labeling of packaged foods and fulfillment is remarkable. This study focused on evaluation of existing laws apply to the labeling of foods sold in Brazil and New Zealand, carried out by drawing up a comparative table. The complexity and broad scope of the legal system applied to food labeling is evident, as well the proximity of the legal criteria adopted by two countries: Brazil and New Zealand.
