Conceptual foundations of technology in higher courses of professional education in technology

The article examines the concepts of technology expressed in legal documents formally drawn up by the National Council of Education and in educational projects of higher courses in technology in higher education institutions in Santa Catarina. Through the history of graduate professional education in technology and epistemological foundations of philosophy of technology the foundation, that provided the theoretical study of selected texts, was built. The research was characterized for having a qualitative descriptive and exploratory purposes. The technical procedures employed made use of bibliographic and documentary research. The elected methodology for the examination of documents was content analysis. The results showed that the deterministic and instrumental views characterize the analyzed documents. It was also shown that the educational projects of the course appropriate the legal instruments not only the normative elements, but essentially the conceptual fundament of technology.
