Scientific production on Digital Skills in higher education:
a bibliometric study

With the increase in the use of Digital Technology (DT) it has attracted the interest of the scientific community in investigating the theme in the work of teachers. With this, this work investigated the scientific production regarding digital competences in higher education. In which a bibliometric research was carried out, of a quantitative and exploratory nature. In which, publications on the subject between 2012 and 2021 were analyzed, in relation to data on the year of publication, institutions linked in the production of the works, structure of the works and the research methods adopted. Thirty-one (31) scientific papers were analyzed. As a result, the data extracted from these researches were presented, indicating the emergence of the theme in the context of Brazilian research, in which the number of publications in the country has increased since the beginning of emergency remote teaching. In addition to highlighting the contribution of authors from international institutions to the development of the theme. It is concluded that scientific research on the digital skills of teachers should contribute to the changes that have taken place in Brazilian higher education
