Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is marked by emerging technological advances in various fields, improving the efficiency of business and organizations, helping to regenerate the natural environment through better asset management, and incorporating a new concept in society for humans . Considering the need to share knowledge in this new context, higher education is configured as a space to work with new technologies and increase people's competence. Thus, analyzing the challenges of higher education in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is the main objective of this systematic review. The question of the research that guided the study was: What are the evidences pointed out in theoretical-empirical studies when it comes to the fourth industrial revolution and its effects on higher education? To do so, we use the Scopus, Web of Science, Eric, Scienc Direct and Google Scholar databases to systematically and structurally perform this review. Of the 24 articles selected, 10 were the target of this study. The results showed that knowing the concepts of the 4th Industrial Revolution allows higher education institutions to improve their strategies and process capacity, creating differentiated models and increasing efficiency in the management and sharing of knowledge. We conclude that the technological drivers of the fourth industrial revolution are essential knowledge for higher education, ensuring an individual bound the necessary changes in this new era.

Graduada em Pedagogia pela Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina (UDESC), com habilitação em Magistério (1988) e Supervisão Escolar (1989). Curso de Aperfeiçoamento em Análise e Desenvolvimento de Sistemas (1992) e Formação de Instrutores (1994). Mestre em Psicopedagogia (Clínica e Institucional) pela Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina (UNISUL)(2004) e Doutoranda no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia e Gestão do Conhecimento (UFSC). Especialista de Ensino e Docente na Pós-Graduação. Avaliadora do INEP/MEC. Experiência em educação com ênfase no processo ensino e aprendizagem.
